Ingredients
- Creamy peanut butter: 1 cup
- Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
- Large egg: 1
- vanilla bean paste: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
- Chocolate chips: 1/2 cup (optional)
- Sprinkles: 2 tablespoons (optional)
- Non-stick baking spray: For greasing
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray lightly with non-stick baking spray to prevent sticking.
- Step 2: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, granulated sugar, large egg, vanilla powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or spatula until all ingredients are well incorporated and a uniform, soft dough forms.
- Step 3: If you are adding chocolate chips or sprinkles, gently fold them into the cookie dough until they are evenly distributed.
- Step 4: Scoop rounded tablespoons of the cookie dough and place them approximately 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Using the tines of a fork, gently press down on each dough ball in a crisscross pattern to flatten it slightly.
- Step 5: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden brown and the centers appear set. The cookies will still be soft when removed from the oven.
- Step 6: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This helps them firm up and prevents breaking.
Notes
- Keep your delightful treats fresh for up to 3-4 days by storing them in an airtight container at room temperature, or extend their life by a week in the fridge for a firmer bite.
- For that comforting warm glow, gently heat cooled cookies in the microwave for 5-10 seconds, or pop them into a 250°F (120°C) oven for 2-3 minutes until just soft.
- These "Super Easy Treats" are absolutely heavenly with a tall glass of cold milk, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or as a cozy companion to your morning coffee or afternoon tea.
- For the ideal chewy texture, always use classic creamy peanut butter; natural or "stir" varieties can significantly change the dough's consistency and make your cookies crumbly.
