Ingredients
- Crushed Graham Cracker Crumbs: 2 cups
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: 1 (14-ounce) can
- Flaked Sweetened Coconut: 1 1/2 cups (divided)
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: 1/4 cup
- Melted Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup
- Vanilla Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Confectioners' Sugar: 1/2 cup (for rolling)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, 1 cup of the flaked sweetened coconut, and the cocoa powder. Stir these dry ingredients together thoroughly until the cocoa powder is evenly distributed.
- Step 2: Add the melted butter and the vanilla powder to the mixture. Pour in the entire can of sweetened condensed milk and stir vigorously until the mixture is fully combined and a stiff, sticky "dough" is formed.
- Step 3: Prepare the coating by placing the remaining 1/2 cup of coconut and the confectioners' sugar into separate shallow dishes. Use a small scoop or spoon to roll the mixture into bite-sized balls (about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter).
- Step 4: Immediately roll each ball—some in the confectioners' sugar and some in the extra flaked coconut—until fully coated. Arrange the finished Moose Farts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 5: Refrigerate the finished dessert for a minimum of 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) before serving. This allows the centers to firm up and the treats to hold their spherical shape. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Store Moose Farts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze them for longer storage; they taste best when fully chilled.
- Since these are chilled treats, skip the microwave! If you prefer a slightly softer center, pull them from the fridge 10 minutes before serving.
- For a fun presentation, serve these decadent bites alongside small glasses of cold milk or strong coffee, or pierce them with decorative toothpicks for easy snacking.
- The condensed milk mixture is very sticky, so for easier rolling, lightly dust your hands with extra confectioners’ sugar or slightly dampen them with cold water before forming the balls.
