Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (16.3-ounce) tube large flaky refrigerated biscuits (8 count)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brown the ground beef in a skillet, then drain off any excess grease. Stir in the marinara sauce and garlic powder; cook for 1 minute until warmed through. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese.
- Step 2: Separate the biscuit dough rounds. Working one at a time, gently flatten each biscuit round until it is about 4 to 5 inches wide.
- Step 3: Scoop approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cheesy beef mixture into the center of each flattened biscuit. Carefully pull the edges of the dough up and over the filling, pinching the seams tightly together to completely seal the contents, forming a ball.
- Step 4: In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the Italian seasoning. Brush the tops and sides of the assembled beef bombs with the seasoned butter mixture. Place them seam-side down in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 5: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the biscuit dough is golden brown and cooked completely through. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze cooled, baked bombs individually and thaw overnight before reheating.
- To revive that crispy crust, reheat leftover bombs in a toaster oven or air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for about 5 to 8 minutes until warmed through.
- Serve these savory bombs alongside a crisp, dressed green salad or a small bowl of extra warm marinara sauce for dipping.
- For the best seal, ensure the cheesy beef mixture is cooled slightly before filling the biscuits, as hot filling can prevent the dough from pinching shut completely.
