Bowties get bold! Forget plain Alfredo—this version introduces soft cream cheese and robust Cajun seasoning into the rich sauce, coating spicy ground beef. Easy skillet recipe.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 12 oz Farfalle (Bowtie) Pasta
  • 2 tbsp Cajun Seasoning (divided)
  • 1.5 cups Heavy Cream
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese, cubed and softened
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cook the farfalle pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining the remaining water. Set the cooked pasta aside.
  2. Step 2: While the pasta cooks, brown the ground beef in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Drain the excess fat, then stir in 1 tablespoon of the Cajun seasoning and the minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Step 3: Reduce the heat to low. Add the butter, heavy cream, and cubed cream cheese to the skillet. Stir constantly until the cream cheese has fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  4. Step 4: Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese and the remaining 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning. Allow the sauce to simmer gently for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a desired, slightly thickened consistency. If the sauce becomes too thick, stir in a splash of the reserved pasta water.
  5. Step 5: Add the drained farfalle pasta to the skillet with the spiced beef and creamy sauce. Toss thoroughly until the pasta is completely coated. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best quality, refrigerate leftovers immediately in a sealed container; be aware the creamy sauce will thicken considerably as it cools, adhering tightly to the pasta.
  • To gently reheat leftovers, use a saucepan over low heat, adding a splash of milk or chicken broth to help restore the creamy consistency lost during chilling, stirring gently until heated through.
  • Finish the plated dish with a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley or green onion to provide a bright, herbal counterpoint to the rich, spiced sauce.
  • For an impeccably smooth sauce, ensure your cubed cream cheese is fully softened to room temperature before adding it to the heavy cream; this prevents lumps and speeds up the melting process.
